03Going this month

Some have the car. Some have the ticket.

Some people have a car and nobody to go with. Others want to go and have no car. Tap the event and say you’re going. You’ll see who’s driving from campus and who needs a seat. The ride home is planned before you leave.

04The driver

Your empty seats are going anyway.

Post the drive you’re already making. Riders chip in. They get off at a transit stop on your way. You choose the pickup spot. You rate them. They rate you.

05The hand-off

The driver gets you close. Transit does the rest.

Trains and buses run on their schedule, not yours. Late at night, often nothing runs at all. So ride with a driver who’s going most of the way. They drop you in the city you need. Then take the local train or bus the last few miles. Davis to San Francisco with Maya, then BART to SFO.

08Questions

Things people ask before their first ride.

The five we hear most. The rest are on the help page.

Do I need a .edu email?

To ride or drive today, yes. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you the moment that changes.

How much does it cost?

Your share is capped at the federal mileage rate, and it drops as more riders join.

What if my driver cancels?

You'll know right away, and we'll look for another match on your route. Cancelling repeatedly affects a person's rating — that's part of why ratings exist.

Can I get a ride back?

For events and places, yes — the return is planned along with the trip out. For your own routes, post the trip back the same way you posted the first one.

What if nobody's going my way?

Post your trip. Drivers see it, and we'll keep looking after you close the app.
